Indian, Western rock stars to raise funds for AIDS
For the first time, major music and film stars from India will join Western rock musicians for a special concert in Los Angeles to raise funds for the prevention of AIDS/HIV in India.

Indian music stars Nitin Sawhney, Talvin Singh, Sonu Nigam and Karsh Kale will be joined by Peter Gabriel, Coldplay, Perry Farrell, Michelle Branch, Macy Gray and Damien Rice for the "One Night in India" concert be held June 8 at Pauley Pavilion on the campus of the University of California at Los Angeles.

Indian sitarist to perform at the Olympics
One Indian musician is set to bring melody to the Olympic games this year.

The sitar of Delhi's Gaurav Mazumdar will ring out as the flags unfurl at the world's biggest sporting event June 3 as it returns to its birthplace at the Greek capital of Athens this year.

Mazumdar, 39, is a disciple of sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar. He is the only Indian musician participating in the Olympic opening ceremony this year.
