I'd like to offer regrets that BBC 2 didn't get to show at least half of the crew from last night's feature on Desi DNA. Credit goes to:
Sunil Parekh, DJ Soni, Prash Mistry (they did get a millisecond of screen time).
Martin James, Sheila Tequila not to mention Kunal Anand and Laura Taflinger got interviewed but didn't get to the final cut. Seb Ahmad, Pavan Mukhi and Phil Inje Chang couldn't be there the day of the shoot.
At least some of the music got a good airing.

that is a shame, i would of liked to have seen the whole crew. however, i still think televised publicity like that is a great achievement and is sure to gain more shiva support. you guys appeared to actually demonstrate some meaning and depth to your work, and overall came across well.
7mins tv time is not much and so I guess they had to cut up a lot of the footage they took. BBC spent a whole day with us and so I guess when they got to the editing room they realised they couldn’t feature the full collective. Which is rather sad cuz we seemed to come across as another bunch of musicians doing the underground thing living in a warehouse, and you all know we much deeper in terms of collaborations, concepts and delivery. All press is good press thou.
I seen the program and in all honnesty I had never heard of you guys before. I love the sounds you make and the whole ideas you put across through living and working together. A real inspiration I must say and a breath of freash air from the usual mundane artists that we find out there. I'll be definately keeping my eye on you guys and looking for as much as your stuff as i can find. Keep bigging it up and doing your stuff!
re: man with the golden arm
I seriously would'ent worry about how you came across, because I honestly don't believe you came across as any such mere underground group. From the responses ive seemed to hear about your coverage last night, it has been absolutly amazing, and you honestly seemed to portray yourselves as a group with some depth. (give paul as an example to the great advertising it did for you ;)) saying that, out of interest what would you have wanted to portray given you had more time?
look at bobby and nihals message board, i am sure that will receive more responses throughout the night.
This actually belongs in this are:
For anyone who missed the show www.cabein.com/Shiva/22234958.mpg
I havt dropped the quality so give it a mo to buffer up..
Great spot. I didn't catch it when it aired- so thanks for the posting of the mpg. Good intro from Nihal as well (setting the chronoligical order and importance straight of the fusion music scene). Well done guys!
any chance of a re-up golden arm?
Golden Arm had to pull it down due to server traffic. We'll post it on the Blog again in RealPlayer format as it'll be smaller in size, and therefore easier to download. Expect it to be posted in the next couple of days.
