So I know I recently mentioned "Holly-Bolly" as one of the movies featured on a BBC short film website, but I was duly following links provided by Asians in Media today and found that Shiva's own Renu provided the music for this one.
Another Infinite Scale EP, but this time available to the public. Go and buy it from record shops. It's BAD ASS. 5 stars from me. oh and here's the details for the launch party:

We just got the mastered version of the Shiva Soundsystem Cloud 9 Mix of Visionary Underground's new single Eye Of The Storm. It sounds very good.
For those that are worried about going to both Friction at Cargo on Friday and our party, have no fear.

The Shiva Soundsystem bank holiday/Birthday/Holi party is also Friction's official after party! It's £5 in with a Friction flier.
After this Friday's Mahatma's Revenge (which was AMAZING) and Saturday's Herbalism (a slow burner but what a finale!) I was exhausted and hadn't even begun to get the sets bounced down and ready for upload. Started today and they should be ready in a couple of days.

Now, I know y'all have seen the cute short film "Holly-Bolly," but director Dishad has asked me to tell people to go here and watch his movie to get him more votes. So go see it again, or inflict it on friends and coworkers who haven't seen it. Personally, I want him to get funding for his feature film, which sounds beyond surreal. And, I was also entertained to learn, after he and I and a Canadian Asian actor had been joking about my little gori self being exploited by the brown media, that Holly-Bolly was edited by a white girl. (and I saw a big Indian art-flick at Virgin the other day that had an all-brown crew and editrix named Bridget!) Dishad laughed evilly when I pointed it out and said "You ain't the first, and you won't be the last." Who'da thunk? Not only am I part of some heretofore unknown brown slave trade in Caucasian female video editors, but I'm probably the first whitey to ever marry a brown guy for a visa. Just wait for the next Eastern Eye expose, man. :p

Violent India
India isn't the peaceful, tolerant country that it is often portrayed as, something I began to understand when I was there last December. I witnessed a propensity for physical abuse where beggars are beaten for sitting in the shade of a shop awning and rickshaw drivers on meagre earnings suffering at the hands of their wealthy passengers. Of course on the other hand it's likely that the beggar was a thief and the rickshaw driver was taking advantage of his unsuspecting passenger. The picture I had in my mind of peaceful Indians was only contradicted after I arrived there. It seems that stories like the one below don't often get the airing they deserve and there's many sides to any one story. I for one am with Bill & Ted when they said "Be excellent to each other" - wise words.

The shocking secret about the NY Asian Massive scene EXPOSED!

We met Dhruva of Dhamaal last night in Manhattan as well, but no Asian club nights going on while we're here, alas. Mogul is slowly liking the city, but not the subway. Except for the tin-can aesthetic of the subway cars. ;)

Dark City
Tonight on Five - 22:50
Imaginative science-fiction thriller set in a nightmarish urban complex of the future. A seriously killa film with a beautiful take on the city as a living mechanical environment. Some inspiring scenes have been rehashed in The Truman Show, Matrix and many others... Don't miss it...

Here you go, the Mahatmas Revenge and Supersonic Buddha posters for March have also been uploaded

More: This Is Local London

This logo should be changed into a mythological creature of the London Transport system..
Standing at the bus stop bombarded by snow, rain and wind, I can then look up and say a lil prayer to a new Deity of hope: Please let the bus come on time... Eyes fixed on the road ahead as it takes a sharp curve, tracing any glimmer of scarlet red, or the salvation of glowing yellow digits. Yet nothing. The London Transport slogan should read: Have faith it will come. After 40 minutes there’s no need for hope or faith, a lost soul now bitter with anger, spitting, swearing and cursing in the blistering winter air. Still, waiting, for the sight of those illusive letters
N 1 7 1
The world will know the rage of one pissed off man, when that bus finally appears the driver will be strangled and finally I will have my sweet revenge. Then, a mummer, a rumble and the N171 swings round the corner and comes to a gentle stop, a purring hiss just before the doors swing open.
I board as always,
pay my £1.20 and sit down with my sanity back in tack.

After many hours of toil in front of her computer (while being simultaneously aided and hassled by Nerm), Alura edited our 20 second video for the BrAMA's that will be shown when we get our nomination read out. Just in case it doesn't make it on to Channel 4 on the 27th March, here it is:

Two posts in one day... the coffee is definitely working this morning.

RESEARCH
I've found lot's of things in the internet over the last few years specially to do with locationg music, singingfish.com being one of my absolute favourite web based multimedia search tool but this morning I found this FindSounds - Search the Web for Sounds - I hate using this word but... WOW. Using my handy googlebar backwards links search I've now found this, The Best "Specialized" Search Engines and Directories - good work fella.

Funny English - isn't it? Well, that's the German English version of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. A private channel (RTL II) was innovative enough to dub and telecast the movie last November - only to celebrate its viewer ratings shoot up considerably. Almost 2 million Germans were glued to the riot of colour and emotion running through the satins and velvets.

See I just realized how this is all very confusing .
We have the UKAMAs and the BrAMAs
They both use the same logo identity of the sitar.
They both have annoying websites.
And i dont think im the only one confused as they both supposedly going to be aired on Ch4.
